Dennis Cacen pets his Jack Russell terrier, Clairbelle, as he climbs into the cab of an excavator while working in Northeast Portland on Tuesday. Cacen, a superintendent for Eugene-based Brown Contracting, has been bringing 14-year-old Clairbelle to work with him since she was a puppy.
